Wells Road House Fire

This morning, at 4:27 am, Valley Forge Firefighters and surrounding mutual aid companies were alerted to a house fire on Wells Road. Chief 68 arrived at 4:30 am to confirm a working fire in the attached garage with it extending into the structure. Engine 68-1 (Valley Forge) and Ladder 65 (Phoenixville) arrived at 4:37 am, secured a water supply at a near by hydrant and began fire attack. The deck gun from Engine 68-1 was utilized to knock the bulk of the fire while handlines were stretched from Ladder 65 and Engine 68-1.

After reducing the bulk of the garage fire with the deck gun, crews advanced the two hose lines into the dwelling to fully extinguish the fire. Crews from Kimberton, East Whiteland, Paoli & Royersford arrived to assist with extinguishment and overhaul. The fire was placed under control in approximately 35 minutes. Crews continued to work through the morning removing debris and assisting with the investigation.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and The Red Cross is assisting the affected residents.
