Dorchester Way House Fire

July 1, 2025

Shortly before 9am this morning, first alarm companies from Valley Forge, Phoenixville, Kimberton, East Whiteland, Paoli and West End EMS were alerted to a reported House fire on Dorchester Way in Schuylkill Township. Initial reports stated there was smoke from an unknown source in the basement. Chief 68 arrived, confirmed smoke showing and requested the working fire dispatch. After completing a 360 of the dwelling, it was evident that the fire was in the limited access basement and was beginning to advance upwards throughout the structure. Initial crews placed multiple handlines in service and secured water from a near by hydrant.

Hose teams worked extensively for the first moments of the incident to find and access the fire in the basement. Ultimately, four handlines were placed in service with crews operating on all three levels of the home. Crews were challenged by the heat of the fire and the heat of the weather. Additional crews, that were standing by in Phoenixville, were brought in to supplement the operations from Ridge & Limerick fire companies.

The fire was brought under control in less than 45 minutes and is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.
