During this training exercise in June of 2008, firefighters constructed a derrick using a 24 foot extension ladder, two 4:1 block and tackle systems, pickets and an assortment of ropes and rigging. This ladder derrick was then used to perform multiple entry and extrication maneuvers through an access hole in the roof of an old RV. View this video to see how we did.
