Valley Forge Fire; A Week In Review
by Asst. Chief Evan Taylor
Friday October 26 2012

Over the past seven days, Valley Forge Volunteers responded to over 10 calls for service. This was in addition to the weekly trainings held on Monday night. This week’s activities demonstrated the diversity needed in today’s ever changing emergency services. In addition to five fire alarms and two hours of intense vehicle rescue training, the company responded to a reported garage fire, a reported building fire, an appliance fire, an outside electrical fire, an elevator rescue, a fuel spill an accident and a house fire.

In addition to the different types of calls and trainings, Valley Forge provided the previously stated fire and rescue services to four different municipalities out side of Schuylkill Township. This was all completed with a 100% volunteer force of 139 responders (average of 10 firefighters per call) and 52.75 man-hours of service time.
