VFVFCo Prepares for 2012 State Firemen's Convention September 24, 2012
The officers and active crew of Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company are pleased to announce that Station 68 will be participating in this year's Pennsylvania State Firemen's Convention Parade to be held this Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Norristown, PA. The parade will start at 1pm and will wind through the Historic West End and Downtown Business Districts of Norristown.
Over the past month, our firefighters have been very busy getting ready for the parade competition. Driving past out station, you many have seen the firefighters outside washing trucks, scrubbing and painting tools or practicing marching around the property, preparing for the big day. Even our Dalmatians that serve as our occasional mascots, Sprocket and Booster, have been working hard on their marching skills. It will be quite a show, and as an added treat, we will be accompanied by the pipes and drums of the Valley Forge Highland Band!
Everyone in Schuylkill Township and the greater Phoenixville area is invited to support Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company in Norristown this Saturday as our firefighters compete for awards as the best equipped, best appearing fire company in Pennsylvania.
The convention runs from September 26 to 29, 2012. Click below for a tentative schedule of daily seminars that will be held at the Montgomery County Fire Academy (unless noted otherwise). Also click below for a map of the parade route on Saturday September 29, 2012, starting at 1pm.
