Firefighters Participate in Toy Truck Parade By Max Gitin, Asst. Engineer Saturday Dec. 10, 2011
On December 10th, 2011, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company participated in the 92.5 WXTU Toy Truck Parade. Over the past month, firefighters collected over three large boxes of toys for all ages. Engine 68-5, along with a full crew of qualified volunteer firefighters and company mascot Sprocket, departed the Main Station at 8am in order to rendezvous with the convoy comprised of the other members of the parade.
The procession began at the 92.5 WXTU Philadelphia's Country Music Station Headquarters in Bala Cynwyd and followed Interstate 76 to the Wells Fargo Center where the firefighters were greeted by the Philadelphia Flyers ice girls who assisted with the collection of the donations.
The event seemed to be a great success and the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company is proud to have taken part in bringing joy and happiness this Holiday Season to so many children in, and around, our community.
The Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company would like to take this opportunity to wish a Happy and Safe Holiday Season to you and your family.
