Station 68 Participates in National Night Out by Erik Muhlenhaupt FF/EMT
August 2, 2011 - On Tuesday evening several FireFighters from the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company came out to support the Royal Bank of America in hosting Schuylkill Township's National Night Out, an opportunity for local organizations to come together and promote themselves to local residents. Engine 68-2 was on display at 808 Valley Forge Road, in the Royal Bank parking lot for local residents and their children to explore. Firefighters on hand were busy for most of the evening answering questions that many of the residents had about the fire company and what it means to be a volunteer firefighter. In addition to the engine, our fire prevention coordinators, FireFighters Josh Seib and Edgar Gottshall, brought the Northern Chester County Fire Chiefs' Association safety house trailer out to teach children and their parents about fire safety.
The fire company was also joined by the Schuylkill Township Police Department. Chief Fetterman, and Officers Ponds and McCarthy were in attendance showing off the Northern Chester County SWAT truck, which is housed at Station 168, the Valley Forge Vol Fire Co substation on Pothouse Rd.
We would like to thank our local branch of the Royal Bank of America for hosting the event!
