Single Vehicle Accident on Country Club Rd.
by Rafael Henin, 1st Lieutenant 68

SCHUYLKILL TWP, PA - Wednesday May 18, 2011, at appox. 9:21 AM, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a vehicle accident, with entrapment, on Country Club Rd. Within minutes, the first crews began to arrive on the scene to find one vehicle on its side but the driver of the vehicle was able to climb from the wreckage under her own power.

Firefighters from Rescue 68 and Engine 68-1 stabilized the vehicle with wooden blocks and cleared the debris from the roadway while the EMS crew on MICU67-4 tended to the driver.  Fortunately the driver was uninjured from the crash and refused treatment at the scene.  VFVFCo Fire Police and Squad 68-1 closed the road between Woodmere and Valley Park Rd. while Schuylkill Police conducted their investigation.  Country Club Road was reopened at approx. 9:54AM.
