Overturned Car on Pothouse Rd.
by Assistant Engineer Max Gitin
March 17, 2011

SCHUYLKILL TWP, PA - On March 17, 2011 at 6:28 am, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the intersection of Potthouse Rd and Route 29 for an accident involving two vehicles, one of which was overturned on its roof and leaking fluids. Both drivers were out of the cars, without any serious injuries. MICU 67 was treating one of the drivers while the police officer on scene was interviewing the driver of the other vehicle. The first fire apparatus on scene was Engine 68-1, shortly followed by Deputy 68 in the Chief's vehicle and Rescue 68 arriving shortly after. All station 68 crews worked hard to safely secure the overturned vehicle by disconnecting the battery and cleared the hazardous liquids around the accident scene. Two tow trucks arrived to remove the mangled vehicles while the firefighters cleared the road of glass and debris caused by the collision. All roads were promptly reopened. All 68 crews became available and returned to the station.
