VFVFC Assisted on Bridge St. Fire
by Rescue Captain 68, Julius Marosfalvi Jr.
July 3, 2010

On Tuesday, June 29, 2010, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. and Kimberton Fire Co. was dispatched to assist Phoenixville Fire Dept. with a building fire on the 300 block of Bridge street.  Initial reports indicated there was heavy fire on the back deck and that it had extended into the dwelling.

Crews advanced multiple 1 3/4 inch hose lines into the home from the front and rear to extinguish the flames.  After the fire was under control, crews worked exhaustively during the overhaul process, clearing out debris and looking for hot spots.

All residents were evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Phoenixville, Valley Forge, Kimberton, Mont Clare, Oaks, Spring City and East Whiteland.

Thanks to Berwyn for standing by in our station during the fire.
