VFVFCo Assists Phoenixville FD on Building Fire
By Firefighter Erik Muhlenhaupt
June 25, 2009

On Friday evening, June 19, 2009, around 8:30 pm, Station 68 was dispatched for one engine along with Kimberton's Tower 61 to assist Phoenixville Fire Department on a house fire on City Line Ave. in Phoenixville. With smoke showing upon arrival, Chief 65 (Gable) requested a working fire dispatch, bringing Rescue 68, additional units from Kimberton, and Oaks (MontCo 63) for the RIT team. Upon arrival, crews from Engine 68-2 went into service assisting crews from PFD with extinguishing the fire, which was determined to be in the basement. The fire was knocked down before extending past the basement. After assisting with overhaul, 68 units were released from scene around 9:45 pm.
