At 9:42am on Thursday December 4, 2008, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company and West End Ambulance responded to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 23 and Lafayette Rd. As Deputy 68, Kevin Geiger, arrived on the scene, he was able to confirm reports that the driver of one of the vehicles was confined inside with possible head injuries and requested a helicopter be placed on stand-by. Once the medics from Micu 67 were able to evaluate the patients vital signs, the helicopter was taken off stand-by. The confined patient was removed from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Phoenixville Hospital. A second Micu from 67 was on the scene to treat the driver of another vehicle also involved in the crash. The second patient was transported to Phoenixville as well and the driver of a 3rd vehicle involved in the crash was treated at the scene and released.
