Engine 68-5 Visits Wildwood, N.J.
By Fire Captain Jason Cole
September 16, 2008

On Thursday September 11, 2008 Engine 68-5 made the trip to Wildwood, N.J. for the 2008 New Jersey State Fireman's Convention. The truck was on display at Continental Fire and Safety's booth, right in front of the convention center, along the Boardwalk. Continental Fire and Safety is the dealer of Marion Fire and Rescue vehicles for our region and had asked us to display our new apparatus with them for the show. The new engine received quite a crowd of interested firefighters with many questions.

The weather was perfect and the rain held out just long enough for hundreds of New Jersey's bravest to conduct their business at the convention. There were many apparatus vendors on hand displaying their latest innovations and features. Our Mutual Aid company's new Ladder was there too. You can see it at their web-site,
www.pfd65.org.

Special Thanks to Assistant Chief Evan Taylor, Lt. Paul Staley, and Firefighter Heather McDaniels for bringing the truck back on Saturday the 13th. Also, Special thanks to everyone at Continental Fire and Safety for your hospitality.
