Young Patient Transported by Helicopter after Dog Bite
by Fire Captain Jason Cole
August 25, 2008

On Thursday August 21, at approximately 8AM, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to establish a Landing Zone for MedEvac-3 at the Valley Forge Christian College. Upon chief 68's arrival, the landing zone was moved a little closer to the scene, to the Center for Arts and Technology, Pickering Campus. Engine 68-1 arrived and set up the Landing Zone shortly followed by Engine 68-2.

MedEvac-3 landed to picked up their patient. The patient was an unfortunate young girl who was severely bitten by a dog. The crew of MICU 67 provided patient care until the crew of MedEvac-3 was ready to take off. MedEvac-3 flew the patient to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
