Crews Assist MontCo 47 at Building Fire
By Rescue Captain Julius Marosfalvi Jr.
July 23, 2008

On Wednesday, July 23, 2008, VFVFCo was alerted to respond with one engine to assist King of Prussia Fire Company at a building fire at the Bed Bath and Beyond store along W. Dekalb Pike.  Though initially dispatched for an engine to standby in King of Prussia (at Mont. Co. 47) in case of another emergency, while Engine 68-2 was enroute to the standby, they were redirected to respond directly to the fire scene.

Upon arrival, our crews were quickly placed in service manning hose lines along side of firefighters from King of Prussia, Swedeland, and Swedsburg Fire Companies.  Once the majority of the fire was knocked down and smoke was vented, our crews entered the structure to find remaining hot spots and to perform overhaul.  Units from Berwyn, Radnor, Jefferson, Norristown and Lower Providence were also in the scene.
