Morning Blaze Destroys Charlestown Home
By Assistant Chief Evan Taylor

On Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Kimberton Fire Company along with Ladder 65 (Phoenixville) for a reported house fire on Sycamore Lane in Charlestown Twp.  Deputy Chief 61 arrived on location with fire and smoke showing.  The assignment was quickly upgraded to a second alarm and additional tankers.  The fire was fought defensively, as the conditions were not safe for firefighters to enter.
