Annual Easter Egg Hunt

By Julius Marosfalvi Jr.
March 19,2008

On Saturday, March 15, 2008, children from all over came to Valley Forge Fire Company to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  In all, 97 kids, ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years old, registered for the egg hunt.

Many enjoyed the baked goods and flowers that were on sale.  Warm beverages were also available and helped ease the brisk morning.

Several dedicated volunteers and members of the Auxiliary boiled and dyed 90 dozen eggs for the event. Earlier in the morning, the Easter bunny and some helpers scattered the eggs throughout the grassy hills that surround the fire company.

The children waited patiently for the official signal to start the hunt? With a loud blast of the air horn on a fire engine the hunt was underway!

After the hunt was over, while the children gathered to count their eggs, each of them received a giant marshmallow lollipop.  In addition, each child received a coupon for 1 free water ice compliments of Petrucci's Ice Cream & Water Ice located in Phoenixville.   At the end, the lucky person to win the giant Easter Basket raffle was Cody from Spring City.

Throughout the event, the Easter bunny was hard at work posing for pictures with each child.  Many smiles were captured in photographs that hopefully will remind everyone years from now of the good time that was had by young and old.
