Fire Fighter of the Year is selected by the Fire Chief of Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. during January of each year. The selected member must be an "active fire fighters in good standings". The individual is chosen based on the following: outstanding efforts above and beyond the call of duty; motivation and enthusiasm during both emergency calls and drills; active participation and eagerness during organized and non-organized company functions; annual attendance of calls and drills; and overall dedication and service to the fire company and community. All fire fighters and line officers are eligible.
