The Fire Fighter of the Month is selected by the Fire Chief of the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. All firefighters and officers of the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company that are considered "active fire fighters in good standings" are eligible. The Fire Chief's decision when appointing the award is based on the following: efforts above and beyond the call of duty; active participation and enthusiasm during emergency calls and drills; and monthly attendance of calls and drills. There is no limit to the number of times a member can be awarded Fire Fighter of the Month.
