Rescue 68 is a 1991 Grumman Fire Cat with a Hackney Body and is housed at our main station. This truck was purchased the same year as Engine 68-1.
Rescue 68 carries a host of hydraulic rescue tools for vehicle extrications, and is also well equipped for low angle rope rescues and water rescues. In addition to its rescue capabilities, Rescue 68 is equipped with a heavy duty generator, 6,000 watt light tower, 6 bank breathing air cascade system and assortment of forcible entry and fire overhaul tools. This truck is also often used as the command post vehicle on many of our emergency calls.
The truck also carries EMS equipment for Patient care and packaging, including an Automated External Defibrillator for responding to Cardiac arrests. Rescue 68 also functions as our Command Post on large incidents, relaying vital information from the command officer to Chester County's dispatch center.
